This is what I think of when I think of Duck hunters who do these races.

So Betty, what are the boat restrictions there? I mean size and power.
If I took an 18' sled with a 150hp pump would I get a ticket?

They check the inside too. I watched one kid get busted opening day. He ran into another boat, did some damage, got ticketed for that plus the gw was picking at his engine.

I hate Hp restrictions... there are multiple lakes around me where my kicker motor is over the limit, let alone the main.

I hate em too. I was picking at somebody here. But they haven't seen it yet.
There's a lake just south of here that is sometimes a good spot to hunt, and when it's good it's great. But they have a 25 horse restriction. I can understand it with outboards but with mud motors you aren't going as fast on the same number of ponies. There should be different rules.

there are. I think it's a 34 horse limit on them. Could be wrong but am in ballpark. I can look it up but am lazy.

Plus, you can't use 40 horsies in water that's only 48" deep with tons of leaves, sticks, logs, and trash.

you gotta see...think about how all the leaves in the forest are in that 30". You can't plane. The leaves make cavitation. Best you can do is almost plane right before leaves make prop lose grip.

Or, perhaps, competitors. Maybe, they are fierce competitors.

Nope, I need water or mud. Sand stops me cold if it is only a few inches deep. I can get up in 12 inches over hard sand and 2 inches over mud.

Now, if there are bitches around, I can get up any place any time. (unlike Nuff)

If I run with just 18 decoys, my gear, myself, and the dog my little 16' boat will go 22 mph with my 15 hp evinrude.

The child-less nuffdaddy thinks you own an airboat, which I don't even think those run plane on concrete very well.

I would take a jet ski and just throw some decoys in a mesh bag on my back. They would double as a flotation device. :)
