I was just making a point that minimizing sites like these "because it's just a Internet forum" is wrong. This site only really needs me and a few others but we have relaxed rules and are still very small. Any large forum really takes time, people like Swamp and LA Hunter volunteer their time to keep the wheels greased.

Sorry Olly. I can't see paying someone to mod a duck hunting site as if its a job. If its stressful than you probably haven't had a real job in your lifetime.

I never said it was stressful, I made a point which you just reinforced that you don't know how much work it takes to moderate thousands of people. Not to mention this forum in general isn't run by a giant company, there isn't a paid team of programmers. I do it all by myself. So to me, the idea of compensating mods on a much larger forum isn't far fetched or a joke.

You're also low on the totem pole. Someone like Swamp who keeps that place running both in moderation and being an all around DHC team player deserves something and if one day WFF is in the position to reward more involved moderators I will gladly do so.

Some forums have millions of members and I'm not talking Duck forums. I know of a computer related forum where moderators actually get paid. But to you I'm sure they're just losers who need to get a real job.

i stopped being a team player over there a couple of years ago when things went to shit  Now some vegan jackoff owns it and has very little to zero contact with any of the moderators, the place might as well belong to the supermod collective over there since they are calling the shots.

i'm not trying to piss you off Olly. this is your place to do with as you see fit. i like what you have going here, and i like that there's only a couple of mods.

Better scroll up and reread what I wrote that I can't see paying a mod on a duck forum. Miss that part?

There isn't a duck forum on the internet bug enough to pay mods, simple as that.

I don't necessarily think a salary is appropriate but you were implying that it's such an easy thing to do no compensation was needed. That's where we disagree and if WFF ever becomes huge and I have volunteers that get as involved as Swamp is over there I'd gladly compensate them somehow.

nailed it. Outside of battling AI spammers, no duck forum has enough stuff going on to justify a paycheck to mods.

DHC has 59899 members currently, only a few hundred are regular posters.

It is just an internet forum...are you arguing that its not? These are small ones at that. I don't see.where the argument is.
