This.

Oct was fair, slovember kicked in strong then we froze up solid in December. Season is almost over and we still don't have much for water.

Haven't shot a duck since Dec. 3, was a lonely spoony.

I had to resort to shooting a couple gansers and a buffie yesterday just to hear nelli bark.

This season here was a little odd I guess you could say we've had alot of cans and Rudy's that I don't Normally See on some of my lakes. It's always been a treat to be able to bag I can hear in there every other season or so but this year I have shot more cans that I have in my whole entire life. The blue bills and ringers haven't shown up in good numbers still to this day like they normally do By this time of the season. I have managed to shoot a fair number of Widgeon And tree ducks.

I think I've only shot about 10 ducks, all season, most of which were buffies. In my defense, I have been taking a lot of people out who've never duck hunted, so I haven't really been "hunting" myself, very much. And when we do go, they usually don't have waders or a boat, so our spots are severely restricted, although I don't know that me being able to take the hybrid to some of the spots I like would've made much difference.

This is just the eighth season I've kept accurate records, and I appear on track to the numerical worst of those. Would like to think it an anomaly, rather than trend, as last year and the one before were the numerical second best and best of the eight, respectively.

Best season of my life. Although the phenomenal snow goose hatch made it good. I shot a ton of snows last spring and then made the juvies pay once they migrated south. I probably shot 50 Canada's, 35 ducks and over 500 snows.

Epic year. Shot more mallards than any other year. 65 ducks 7 geese in 14 hunts. If I would have waterfowl hunted as much as I did last year I would've broke one hundy easy.

Passed the 100 bird mark last week, and still have two weekends left. 90% of our birds have been Gadwalls, with a few teal, mottles, mallards, and a few assorted divers mixed in. Now that the rivers North if us have finally fallen back in their banks, will do a Columbus trip to the clear cuts this weekend and see if we can find some Mallards to hunt. Lot of legwork getting through the woods and trudging through flooded cut overs, but worth it if you can find the green.

I definitely haven't shot 100 birds out of that delta this season. I'm taking your advice and going out a little later and trying for mid day birds this weekend.

I'd think the Mobile Delta tidal and know that most tidal waters to your west, here in LA, are best hunted on high tides, regardless of their time of day.
