Do you have to drive past the fish and game office on your way home?

It'd get sent to a buddy in PA. He can send it to the auction for me

No, but you couldn't do anything with the hide without it being checked anyway.

It'd look good tacked up in your wood shed.

Are they even legal to sell from any state? Never seen one trapped.

Yes you can sell them if you get them tagged. I think they are taxi market so you have to skin the feet and do the lips. Last I heard they can bring a few hundred bucks. Nafa offers lion but they are usually Canadian lions because it is difficult to send bears and lions to canada for legal reasons

I know the pic isn't great but it was the best one I could get in the dark while looking over my shoulders. :) I'm gonna go to that bait site tomorrow night so it will make things more interesting since I'll be packing bait with me this time. I'm sure it was just a one hit wonder.
And what the hell kind of guy wants a little teeth anyway. I'm in pain just thinking about it. Lol
I might go ahead and carry my pistol with me this time. Although it is just a single action .22

if i remember correctly, most lion attacks are carried out by young males that are usually malnourished or starving. the statistics showed very very few female lion attacks. so maybe that will help settle your nerves.

The only case I know of that a person was attacked and eaten happened in California. It was a woman jogger. She was attacked by a healthy female cougar that still had two kittens in her care. She was neither sick nor male, the cougar that is.

Here is the Wikipedia article link. It appears most attacks are on kids. There isn't enough info to draw conclusions on the cats that attack, other than they take down the easier prey more often than not.

i'm not. the info i looked at included nonfatal attacks, and had several hundred entries from the US and Canada. i never said female or older cats wouldn't attack, only that most human predation seems to be conducted by young male lions.

I didn't hear how big he was. I was told by a friend that they got him. I called my friend because my wife saw the truck parked there and I wanted to see if he new the guy running dogs on that cat. I was freaked out all morning knowing that dogs were running the cat that came by my dispatch snares. I didn't want to be in the local paper or worse the guy who killed a valuable dog. I was glad when my friend called me back and said they got him and they never saw snares just marten boxes.

We caught a mountain lion once near Paradise, California above Lake Oroville. We were trying to catch a fox that we had seen running across the road. The lion was caught in a single spring trap by one toe. When we checked the trap the lion got pissed and tore her toe off and took off down into the canyon. Didn't catch the fox until a couple weeks later.
