Just a heads up, when describing a situation, especially one you weren't there for, you don't have to give all the details. For instance, you could have just said that your uncle (I don't really care which one) shot it with a .308.

I want to see the news report, because something like that would have attracted national attention.

my google search for "Eldon Chapman mountain lion Montana" had no results for any news items.
