You get one of those double hook rig things and pull croaker in two at a time. Damn, I love those fish.

A lake near here is loaded down with stripers, but they say you shouldn't eat them. bc the lake is a cooling pond for a power plant and they claim the mercury levels are really high. I've eaten ducks killed off that lake and it never hurt me though.

Didn't they just come back with a study that showed that the mercury levels of tuna(or some other common fish), which we thought the levels were rising drastically, were identical to that of the fish from the 50's? I'll try finding the article because I didn't really pay attention to it. Mercury is tasty.

Id like to see that, I've heard the place is a real hotbed for striper fishing. I was pretty big into bass fishing a few years back but I didn't have a boat and was only bank fishing at small ponds. Caught some monsters back then though. Regret not puttin a few of them on the wall.
Maybe beef should move to georgia... We've got great.... Wait nvm we don't really have any great hunting or fishing in this state. Good on some stuff but not great.

There's a commercial quail farm in Georgia.

Ehhh. Used to be. Around our farm there were several coveys and were in middle georgia, my dad said they used to quail hunt everywhere when he was a kid. they've all disappeared over the years and the fire ants and house cats are to blame is what the experts say.
Down in South Georgia there are plantations where you can still hunt wild bobwhite quail, if you wana pay 300-400 bucks a gun for a half day hunt, and not always guaranteed wild quail. They usually have to plant some out there to keep it interesting.

is that deep water out on one of those party boat charter deals or you got buddies you go out with?

No, croaker are everywhere when they start running. They'll be in anything from 4 feet to 20 feet. I've caught them from the surf, my little hybrid out next to a 20ft deep channel, in the flats in 3 feet of water, from a pier, from a bridge. Anywhere. Your boat will be just fine for croaker.

They pretty good to eat? I've caught a ton from a friend of mines dock but always threw the ugly fuckers back. We always fished for sea trout and flounder down there.

Get the fuck off the wrong coast then. The great duck hunting on the east coast is history. There are few exceptions.
If you want to hunt bird numbers and, see enough to actually realize the migrations, start heading west. All of the flyways to the west of the Atlantic flyway pump out numbers on the ground with migrations you can see, sometimes daily.

I don't know I've actually witnessed a true "flight day". Maybe one morning this season, but can't say for sure.

Come visit me sometime. You'd love the little seaside town I live in. Population 200, one stop sign, crabbing, clamming, flounder capital of the world, Rockfish up the ass and some pretty fair waterfowl shooting. We joke that a traffic jam is two cars at the stop sign....and they're usually just two guys bullshitting with each other.
