Maple syrup! I picture guys like jehler getting their cordless drills charged up to drill taps into sugar maples. Exciting time of year! (not)

We got a week or more of freezing and thawing going on here in the forecast.
Gotta be close.

All depends on when it thaws. Here it is supposed to be in the teens again next week.
There might be some flow this week, but it wont be for long and it will be a pain in the ass to get to.

Roddenberrys comes from Cairo, Ga.
But the stuff I get comes from a great uncle of my wife down around Waycross. The Okefenokee swamp region. Good stuff home made.

Old schoolers used the old hand drills with wood bits, a cordless drill and 1/2" bit works a lot faster!

All sexual innuendo aside, do you use the same hole year after year? Or do you "rotate" trees? Or just the location on the same tree?

C'mon Jim, you know when a hole goes dry, flip it over and tap a new one.

From everything Ive read and heard, you wanna move the tap year to year couple inches over and up or down, giving the tree enough time to fully heal the previous years tap.
