But I going away from that to Texas rigging this year.

I found two bags of dekes in Arkansas rigged with fishing knots. Re-doing them sucked.

Don't have to know its purpose to know it's a great knot, can be undone after towing a boat or truck but won't come undone on its own when used as he's suggesting.

Why don't you explain why I know this knot and where I learned it.
I'm curious Reb.
Teach me. :)

     Not always easy to untie depending on load pulled or size of rope unless you have a fid.

Never owned a fid but have found screw drivers handy when we've asked a bowline to do too much. Rope or strap, has always come undone - so far...

Yet to see one untie here too. Takes work at times but will untie when other knots wouldn't.

There are better knots for decoys.
I don't use bowlines on decoys.
Sometimes it's fun to post something and let the experts pick at it.

Rebelp will you teach us some knots? Post pics.
Can you?
Please?

I've used bowlines for decoys for years, don't know anything quicker, much less "better" - except rigging with 400lb test mono when applicable.

x2 my stuff that doesn't have mono has paracord with bowline knots. I don't know of a single time one has came untied.

I only use one decoy, so that's impossible. I've had him for 30 years.

I tie, what I call, a slip knot on the ones that have nylon. Basically an overhand knot going all the way around the main line that allows it to slide. As long you put a knot in the tag end it won't come untied at all. It's just so fast and easy to tie. A real bitch to untie though with small line and pulled really tight.

The absolute best was the year Doug bought a trailer load of decoys from Wally World after the season and paid a couple kids to string them - with cotton string and granny knots. Turned out he only rented them, because most were gone before the end of season one.

Believe that is called an arbor knot, knot of choice for tying fishing line to your reel.
