Calvin and Hobbes

Special place in my heart for this comic strip. Used to go get the Sunday paper for my parents and I'd always steal the comic section just for C&H. I've been going back and reading them as an adult and they are so much better.

Love it. I still have all the books, which Layniebug is reading now. She doesn't get the humor, yet, but they make me laugh still.

I'm going through the complete collection now and I'm actually remembering some of them even though I read them 15 or so years ago.

Fuck it was longer than that like 20 years ago... wtf.

I'm not old yet but it was weird to think about it like that.

I know what you mean. I go to reminisce about something that seemed like 5-10 years ago and it ends up being 15-20. Time just keeps on keeping on.

If a building with all my possessions was burning down, and I could run in and grab one thing, it would be my complete collection of the "Far Side."

Never got into calvin and hobbs, but Pearls Before Swine and Frank and Ernest are the best ones running today.

Bizzaro is good too.

My favorite Far Side was a pair of cheetahs peaking through the grass at some gazelles. One of them had turbo on the side.

Nothing beats Far Side for me. C&H is great too. Bill Ohman does mostly politics, but has a great book called "Fear of Fly Fishing."

I'll be damned if I can find my favorite one, but it's two hunters looking at some deer tracks on the ground, saying "it appears they were running some sort of zone", or something to that effect. Couple other personal favorites are "Bummer of a birthmark Hal" and "Johnson, get your hand in his face!"

Also enjoyed the comic "Shoe" because it had a young character named Skyler who was a misguided character, just seemed fitting.
