BP did it again

Postby Woody » Wed Mar 26, 2014 7:19 am

This time it doesn't look to bad, but with ice cover already killing of diver and sea ducks, this was probably the last thing they needed.

Oh it is not just BP... At least they reported it right away. Did you ever read about the Kalamazoo Oil Spill? The assholes at Enbridge let it leak into the river for hours before doing anything about it.

Too big to fail. Quit yer bitchin and fill up at Phillips 66. Its not like all the gas in town comes from one big bp storage tank.@ (probably does)

Yeah it's not just BP. At least in the Enbridge the river didn't catch on fire. Like Cleveland. They crashed a barge in Houston and spilled a bunch of oil last week.

I almost always buy my gas from a Phillips 66 and they get their supply from a local company named Aalfs Petroleum Inc.

Here...it don't matter what gas station you go to. They all get their supply from the same depot on Staley road. It gets delivered in a pipeline. I'm sure that each company has their own tanks for each grade they sell. @
You can stand there and watch them fill up the delivery trucks.

Oil comes out of the ground. It's 100% natural. I've never understood the horror which results from an oil spill. It'll go away, just give it some time, and stop fucking up mother nature, like all those misguided idiots who used to steam clean all the rocks and beaches, and then discovered they were making recovery take much longer, because they killed all the natural oil-eating organisms.

if a pipeline ruptured and spilled crude oil all over your island it would be horrific. Since its not my yard...no big deal. It'll clean itself up. Sue Saudi Arabia...lol

I worked on the 2010 BP oil spill cleanup. Great pay for lots of fun.

An oil spill isn't natural. Yes it comes out from the ground, but we have to do it. It doesn't just happen in huge amounts like I'd does when there is a spill.

I'm pretty sure it does.
I worked for a gas distributor for a while. They told me that shell and chevrons additives were bullshit. It's all the same & there's no such thing as mid grade. It's just regular mixed with premium. There's no actual mid grade tank.

When i do an oil change, I drain it straight back into the ground. Your welcome.

I have city water and the filtration plant is a1/4 mile down the road. I just figure it will make its way back to its family at some point.

I save my used motor oil and then burn it when I'm camping. That way when our "fireman" asks for my lighter fluid I can toss him a quart of used motor oil and save $3 or whatever.

The barge was carrying nearly a million gallons....since when do they use gallons? When they want the number to be bigger.
31,740 barrels just isn't a big enough number to get in a big fuss over. SEE?
Now Nuffdaddy is calling it millions and the next guy will say billions by "accident".

ONE barge. It's not that big a deal but the news needed a story to cover up the idiot stuff Mrs.Obama is saying in China or something.

I'm just talking about spills in general. They have an impact that isn't natural. But I think other than a rough initial cleanup the rest should be left to Mother Nature like Assa said.

No. We don't dump that much though. I usually give the guys at the oil change place my money.
Mostly just small engine oil gets dumped in the gravel driveway.

If we're gonna crybaby about chemicals being dumped onto the ground and contaminating our drinking water supply then why not all the farm shit they use? Is it safe?...or just profitable?
