Are you telling me that all of you are paying $5 per month for Sirius? How in the hell did you get them down that low?

If I'm following the conversation correctly, they called and Jewed them down by threatening to cancel the service.

I've had XM since 2004. Been thinking about getting rid of it and using my phone only. Have the phone holder cords, etc. Cheaper paying and additional 10/month for increased data than 16/month for xm. Only listen to about 8-9 channels on xm. Able to get unlimited radio stations on the phone.

To get the $5. Month I have to let It actually expire and wait for them to call me. I lose all my presets and only have the service about 10 1/2 months a year.

They nailed me this month. My re-up is in march and I initially paid on a credit card. So it automatically charges another year at the end of the year. Next year I will call and cancel before my renewal date and try your method.

Just wait about 30 days after your service has stopped. They will call and beg you, hold out at their first offer, they will sweeten the deal.

Just don't know if I can go a month without it. It is literally all I listen to. I rock it on the bridge most of the time. 60s and 70s folk rock and soft rock. Classic vinyl, deep tracks, classic rewind, and college sports are all in my presets. Back in the XM days they had a station called XMLED... It was great. All zeppelin and a few covers plus a little plant/Krauss doing zeppelin songs They also did a "band on the run radio" it was all Paul McCartney and wings.

It was always better when these were on on the job site and the homeowners were there taking a tour. They always came through on Fridays, and that was also Bubba's satellite-only live show day, so he was really coming unglued.

The install kit I was looking at has a FM modulator in it. Works through your exsisting system.

That's not the one I was talking about. The modulator works great, and you can normally pick it up pretty far away, inside the house, on the jobsite, etc. They used to make a small "portable" one, which you would actually take in the house with you and so forth, and supposedly that thing wasn't worth a shit. I suspect it was just a power issue, since it worked the same way as the others, it was just portable and had a built in antenna.

No this is a hard wired kit to install it in the truck. I would never do wireless.

Sometime compare two stereo systems.
Get an older high fidelity Harmon Kardon with really good modern speakers. Hook up a turntable and a CD player then compare CD to vinyl. The older technology dwarfs the modern. Digital is not better than analog. Its obvious if you own an old stereo.

Take a ride in my truck with sirius hard wired to my Bose sound system some time. You'll hear notes you didn't even know we're in songs and that's a 10 year old sound system.
