You should check out the season pics thread in the Oregon forum on DHC, some guy shot two grebes and posted pics.

We don't (well, I don't) see a lot of pie billed grebes. Most of the ones I see are red necked grebes or crested grebes, both of which will trick your ass into thinking they are common mergs at about 2 minutes before LST when they come swimming through your decoys.
