Juice, go up to Lake Almanor and chase down the shrooms as the snow melts and receeds. Morrels are about the best eating and some of the most expensive if you have so many that you can sell some.

People around here grew up calling them wild fish but you're on the money. Got 19 today and some will be fried up soon.

Do you soak them in salt water to draw the worms out or just ignore them and dig in?

I usually throw em in the sink to clean em off a little. I haven't really had a problem with worms. Occasionally there will be slugs all over one of them, but I don't pick those ones.

You can dry them out and they will keep for a really long time as well!

In my experience, fresh burn areas are the best place to find em. Filled 4 paper grocery bags with em a couple years ago.

They say to not wash mushrooms till you're ready to eat them so they last longer. Just a little gem I read one day. Same with any berries.
