It's the minerals in the soil. You can almost see the major river valleys highlighted in red.

aunt betty wrote:Shot a huge doe one year. Walked a certain ditch many times for pheasant. Noticed deer tracks in the ditch and started looking each time thru.
The ditch made a C shape in a 200 acre field. There was a fence at where the water came out of a culvert. Made the field kind of like a large pen.
Noticed a fat doe would slip out of the ditch and shed stand in the center of the field watching me. Happened many times.
One day it was like a blizzard. Went out to try for pheasants and bumped into that doe eye to eye. She was walking the ditch in the bottom the opposite direction.
I shot her three times up close. Once in the head.
She ran off and I stood there beating myself up. Stupid stupid stupid.
She ran about 70 yards stopped and fell over dead. She was fat cuz she never left that corn field. Estimated she was close to 300# field dressed. Very large deer here in Illinois. That doe was an example. She tasted real good too.
meat hunters shoot does. You want antlers? Will mail you some. How do they taste? Do you fry or bake them?Eric Haynes wrote:aunt betty wrote:Shot a huge doe one year. Walked a certain ditch many times for pheasant. Noticed deer tracks in the ditch and started looking each time thru.

I'd like to know. Kind of have a hankering for some of them spicy little boneless tasty pieces of chicken and would drink a beer or two. What kind of beer should I get in order to avoid giving my blessings to HSUS?
