Maybe the difference has been that I have been there to give most of their shitty beers a try, unknowingly. If you are just buying the good shit over the net, then it would be hard to get a bad taste in your mouth from Euro beers. Over there, they sell everything by the single bottle. Easy to fill a basket up with singles really quick and the majority sucked. The ones that stood out definitely stood alone, especially after drinking mop water right before hand.

I lived in Pisa, Italy, but took RyanAir all over Europe, along with long road trips on weekends. I think I could have bought 5 bottles a day over the time I was there, and never come close to trying %1 of what they have to offer. Unfortunately after I tried brunello, I was hooked and hardly strayed away.

I've had some rank beers in both Spain, Italy and France. I've bought some beers by the single before I knew better than to look at the date. The beer tasted like it was in the can for a century.

Your big mistake was ever trying Brunello. It can take a big chunk out if your wallet. After that, only the Super Tuscans can pass the muster but they will take you for broke. What were you doing in Pisa for three years?

Its not my idea of gourmet beer, but I am not the one drinking it. Just like people dogging on a Mossberg. Don't matter to me what you shoot or drink. I just happen to like different beer and shoot a Benelli.

You're drinking it. Therefore it must be cheap and, which is generally bad.

Why would you drink beer flavored water? It has little flavor, too much carbonation and very little alcohol. I don't understand light beer whatsoever. It's nothing more than a marketing tool to see low cost beer at a high margin. There is very little calorie gain and what calorie gain you get comes from the loss of alcohol content.

I had to order another microbrew to go with the elk burger I ordered because i want to keep this thread going. I ordered a Helltown Mischievous Brown Ale. That beer would compete with New Castle any day. I have to admit even though it was slightly more hoppy than its English counterpart, it was damn good. The elk burger with ones Gouda and cartelized onions was out of this world.

Think my favorite is still SNPA but I drink a lot of Lone Star Light.

I've heard of lone star. Is it a Texas only beer? or could I get my hands on it elsewhere?

I can get it Indiana and Michigan.

I don't think I've seen it here, only heard people from TX talk about it. My problem is that all the hipster dipshits here demand PBR on the shelfs. Nothing wrong with PBR, but it has become such a fad to drink it that I go out of my way not to drink it.

The same thing happened with Rolling Rock about 25 years ago. Used to be a good, cheap beer. Then the precursors of hipsters, whatever they were called, decided that Rolling Rock was "the beer", and the price damn near doubled. I wouldn't drink that shit if you paid me to, anymore.

Sorry buddy, never ever heard of the rock as "the beer". No more than CL Smooth is "the beer" in Md anyway.
