They did. Dogs got to run and swim. Kids collected momma a buncha drift wood for the flower beds

This thread reminds me of a funny story.
In the mid-70's my dad bought a Mark Twain stern drive ski boat. The dealer mixed up the order and he got a 28' for price of 26'.
First time we went skiing he got the bright idea of having my mom, me, and my brothers all should get some rocks for ballast.
Dumb move, suddenly my mom's hobby was rock collecting and omg...every trip she had us hauling the damned things. :(
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

that think was actually pretty impressive. I've got two old stumps on my property now that could probably easily rival that ones root system
