Im not against quick reads, makes me feel smart.

I really enjoyed it. Then again its about an area right near where I live and hunt alot.

I know I've endorsed that book before. Very neat. The numbers he killed are pretty hard to comprehend.

I have the chapter marked where he's sitting in the hut and the lions keep coming all night and by morning he's killed like over 20.

Truly.

I read it the first time probably 25 years ago, and I pick it up every couple years and re-read it. Same with Horn of the Hunter and The Old Man and The Boy.

Are those Africa books too?

I don't really have any active desire to hunt Africa, but he sure made it cool to read about.

Hunter is probably the only person who isn't a douche for having season totals in his sig.

Horn of the Hunter is a memoir of Rurark's first safari to Africa, OM&TB is his recollection of growing up in Costal Carolina and the role of his grandfather in his upbringing.

Robert Ruark and another named Jack London made me into the fearless adventurer that I am.
Fearless...oh I have my troubles but always land on my feet at a run...like a cat.

Have that book sitting on my desk right now. The pictures of the old duck camp trucks are badass.

Yeah gotta love the old pickups and stuff in waterfowling books. Bunch of cool shit in them.

This is one of my favorites.
