Oh hell you can cut a big tree down with a cheap ass poulan from walmart.
It's about efficiency with those big ass saws.
wasn't my money spent on them and it fit in the equipment budget so why the hell not have three of them?
Makes my job easier and they last longer.

This was the bullshit I came in to this morning.
High winds last night after a bunch of rain.
A tree with a double trunk hit dead center of another tree abt 30 ft up.
Nothing 4 chainsaws 10 Mexicans and a bobcat couldn't take care of though.
It was pretty sketchy making the first cut to get it down though.
Cut and run. If it don't come down, repeat.
At first thought I was gona cut the tree it was hung up on and run but decided to cut it loose from the root ball.
There was a ton of pressure on it though. Could barely cut it with the stihl ms 440. That's a big ass saw with a 26 inch bar on it too.
Then dragged it from the side with the bobcat to get it to fall. It was on the side of a 10 ft deep gulch too, slick and muddy. Damn skid steer kept sliding down toward the edge. Not fun.
Why does a golf course need a fuckin 440?!?! That's a heavy duty saw.
We have three of them.
Because shit like this happens and we need to get it cleaned up quick.

Exactly. You don't know what you are missing if you've only used an 18" bar an a crappy saw. I just like the longer bar so I don't have to bend over. Its not about cutting the tree down.

I'm sure as he'll not gonna go buy a big ass chain saw.

Our saws are stihl, so they are good saws. Just what my dad has bought and I'm sure as he'll not gonna go buy a big ass chain saw.

I've got a small stihl also that is a good saw too....for women and children. The power behind a big commercial saw is nothing like that of the small residential use versions. Like comparing a Corvette to a Fiat 500.

I have like 10 chains for my 32" bar. As soon as I have to put any pressure to cut I swap it out. Also, using a full skip chain is where its at for the longer bars. I keep full comps on my smaller saw.

Yep, as soon as a chain starts getting dull you might as well just stick it in the dirt and forget about it.

Hell no lol. I change it quick so it only needs to be touched up, rather than sharpened
