Don't know if I've posted these here before, but these are some of the ones I've made that I didn't want to sell.

L - R: purple heart w/ bocote mouth piece, verra wood, tulip wood (I think), camatillo speck call, another in verra wood.

The verra is cool, when you turn it its yellow like pine, exposure to sunlight turns it green

Not to be a stickler, but that is the cabelas DC modeled after the JS sig DC. The JS DC has a clear barrel and black insert with either a human skull or the old style duck skull.

Anyone have a floating lanyard that is comfortable and not to bulky? I figure if I get another decent call, that would be a lot of money that I regularly put in places that has a better than average chance of sinking into the deep crap.

I thought the DS was "the" call until I got my hands on the diablo. The diablo has replaced my daisy cutter, I like it that much. The DS is a fine call, just wish it was a touch louder.

Basically what I've heard. I regret selling my diablo. If I had to pick one call that would be it, but the Old DC and a short barrel/microhen fulfill my needs a bit better.

I'd like to get my hands on an old daisy cutter to try out. How does and old DC run compared to a diablo? My diablo seems to be very forgiving compared to my cutter(new style) while still having plenty of volume.

The diablo runs closer to the SB than a DC. The old DC is more temperamental than the new one, but capable of a broader range. It gets very, very load, but also can get pretty quiet.

That's why I pulled my cutter off the lanyard...too temperamental for my novice azz. If I do my part it's awesome, but I'm not consistent enough yet. I get a good cutting type feed chatter, but as soon as I start trying to get more than one duck out of it I get myself twisted. The diablo is forgiving enough that I don't just sound like another idiot in the marsh farting in his waders.

Yep. TheDude hooked me up with a new one. I need to take some pics of it. I like my calls up high. Bugs me when they hang down really low.

High Water Lanyard. That's the exact same reason I make mine the way I do. That and the fact they are constantly in the water where I hunt if they are on a long lanyard.

I use the same clips on my lanyards and they are great. The problem is that zipper braid is tighter than dick's hatband.
