I know the tools you're talking about too a Stihl weed whacked with handlebars and a horizontal circular saw blade at the base. We did get to use actual saws. Longview land was always open to hunting when I was in OR. I heard that since Weyerhaeuser bought them that is no longer the case. I also did not know that the mills were part of the deAl.

Weyco didn't buy their mills another outfit did.

The mill in Silverton was closed long before my time. Did this buyout effect any of the other mills in OR that you know of QH?

Unless I'm mistaken, there is no Longview fiber. The manufacturing plants for paper, lumber and such is are owned by Keystone paper and all their land is now owned by Weyco.
I could be wrong but, I can't find anything that shows otherwise and looking up LongviewFiber.com shows a google error as in no longer any such thing.

It's a subsoil implement. Heard em called chisels also. We use it instead of plows because most of the top soil stays on top. It's just a big shank pretty much.
