Gadwall and I had a good time today despite the crappy fishing conditions. I caught the largest striper I've ever caught today plus a nice keeper for the freezer. We fished striper for a few hours then tried some new spots for American shad.

Not really awesome Boot. Some commercial guys pulled in behind my houseboat to unload their fish this morning and I snapped a few pictures. They told me not to take any pictures and I told them to kiss my ass and took them anyhow.
The rod and reel striper fishing is quite good this time of year here though. I'll probably start chasing them this week.

A buddy of mine had two fish this week 58 and 60 pounds. When I heard that.....I reloaded all my Penn 950's with new, fresh 30LB line.
Gonna get after them serious now.

I've worked damn hard for many years to get one that size. She gave me a hell of a fight with 15 pound mono and my 5600 Abu. Hope I can top that fish one day but that may not happen.

Not yet. I'm snow crabbing for a few weeks, about a 12 hour sail from home. I'll have to hit them hard when I get back if the season is still on. ( Even if it's not )

Our season opened the first of may and I heard it was still slow. It should pick up if we could get some warm weather. Sorry to hear your season didn't go so well.
