Believe me its been a pleasure to do. Im pretty stoked at working on the next seasons traveling bird. The wood for it got here a couple weeks ago. Northern white cedar. Its light and for the carver it smells pretty good also.

Since the Smew has had the lead for so long Im going to go ahead and say Sir Smew will be travelling this season. I have the pattern already and just need to tweak it a bit.

Yeah Im really liking that bird. It'll be kinda wide and low for a bigger aerial foot print and stability than the pattern I bought, its more of a decorative bird pattern. I will probably start on it in a couple weeks while im at a carvers get together in Missourri and after I get a certain bust done. Of course all this hinges on keeping the wife happy with her spring remodeling. Im getting a climate controlled shop out of it so I wont complain LOL
