Found this last winter duck hunting in the high country looks like a fresh break from fighting during the rut. Came off a good bull.

I'd shoot it! Have you ever seen/heard how much force it takes to break an elk antler?

Unfortunately, we had to cut the festivities short to attend a visitation for my friends grandfather. He was an army vet, a great father/grandfather/great grandfather, and I can only hope to be as good a man as he when it is my time to pass.

I've never seen it but I can only imagine. I'd definetly shoot it. It's hard to tell but this is the very too split. It was likely a 5x5 or 6x6 bull.

It is a very small project about 70 acres total. Straight to bagged so hitting spec is important. Hence the pickers. We handle all the growing up to harvest. No they don't use the self propelled harvester. Still spray acid and undercut tops too. The farm who digs/sells them has some straight up ancient equipment.

10-4.

I know the guys growing Chippers/processing stock get away with a lot more than fresh-pack but I haven't seen a rig like that in 20 years.

But the ones from MD come with a welder and won't/can't shoot a pintail out from under you.

One of the operations I'm familiar with grows for Frito Lay and they made a few videos a couple years ago...do yourself a couple favors... 1) skip to the 5 minute mark 2) mute the hillbilly music

I remember how dry it got here but want to forget. The grass all died and it was awful.
