Those are the same ones I was issued in 91. I could have swore I saw a story that they were issuing newly designed "fashionable" BCGs, but maybe that was only a year or two ago, after you got your initial issue.

what does BCG stand for?

Birth Control Glasses. My buddy always called them BCD's, Birth Control Devices.

The funny part is that they have been called that for so long, it had become part of the official terminology. For inspections or what not, it would be specified whether you had to have "BCGs available", rather than their official terminology (whatever that was)

I have high hopes for the middle of the month. Officially the longest I've gone without shaving my mustache in the 6 years since I've joined.

I have never let mine (TRY) grow for more than 2 weeks in almost 51 years. The only exception was missions in the military and trips to the woods that lasted longer than 2 weeks. I only shave once a week anyway.
It's still pretty thin but, I'll see how long I can stand it. The old lady is nagging me about it already.
