Smoke alarm chirp

Hard wired smoke alarms, all with battery backup in the house. I think there are 6 total. Switched out all batteries on Saturday for fresh ones.

The one in our bedroom still chirps, although it will stop after while. I turned the breaker off, disconnected the wires, removed the battery, turned breaker back on, put battery back in, basically resetting, and it still chirps.

I initially thought it might be a battery connection problem, but got home this afternoon and it was chirping every 30 seconds. We keep the house at 75 when away during the warm months, and 70-72 when home. I turned the thermostat down to 72 and it has quit chirping. Are these things that sensitive to heat, or do I need to replace the whole thing? All were installed in February '07.

They are sometimes sensitive to dust, especially sheet rock dust.

For Christ's sake, listen to Jim. Just shit can it and buy another. 7 years in place and who knows how long on the shelf before that. Someone has already got their moneys worth out of them. They are all going to start failing, one by one. I just went through the same thing this past winter. Oh, and mine, do/did not have CO2 detection.
