His last name was Mendes. Great grandpa is buried up in the Ferndale cemetary. Still have some family up there but I've only met them a couple times. Their last name is Koolie. Think that's how they spell it.

Will do. The old ranch wasn't to far out of town. I don't remember any road names but we went by an old abandoned creamery, crossed over a bridge, and the ranch was just a little ways down on the right. We visited it when we were there but my dipshit uncle got us all kicked off the property because he kicked out an old board in the barn that my grandpa had carved his name in back in the 40's. The barn was old and dilapidated, but still. If he would've asked the guy probably would've lent us a saw or hammer to remove it but he always took the jerk route about everything he did.
