Artificial flavoring has no place in beer! Theres actually some heated debate on that beer. The original brewer of it said he didnt want to make it anymore, then magic hat picked it up and started making it without his permission, but no official paperwork, so no dice.

Most women don't like Magic Hat.

What are your thoughts about Guiness?

Honestly though this magic hat beer place needs to rethink the names of their brews

Guinness is good, why people think it's a big heavy beer is beyond me!

I'm talking your views on their ingredients. You did say something about artificial flavors, and producing something you didn't come up with.

The original brewer of MH#9 didn't want to use it, but they said no and continued making it.
Are you implying guiness uses artificial flavors?

Side note-I will take a guiness over just about any magic hat any day.

I was implying that Guiness uses a few questionable ingredients and the recipe was taken from someone and given to Guiness. I like both Magic Hat and Guiness, but I'd rather support a local brewery rather than a conglomerate anyday.

Also, I went to quite a few pubs/bars in Alpena and none of them had Shorts on hand, but all knew what it was. WTF? Couldn't find it anywhere.

What is questionable used in guiness?

Good stuff when fresh, last one I had was getting old, no where near as good as fresh.

As for a guiness on a hot day? Sure. Guiness isn't really any heavier than most lighter beers. If Guinness removed the roasted malts, you'd pretty much have an English mild.
