$5 he gets caught up in the weeds and mud and ends up on his face before the other rig sees him.

I'm free! The other mud boat helped me out. Turned out to be a fellow Coastie.

Oh and I want to thank Deltaman who was half way to me when I finally got free. He's a good man that dropped what be was doing to come save me and I'd return the favor any day.

I'd have that problem all the time if I had a mud boat. I'd need a chainsaw winch for sure.

I do carry a hand winch in the boat but this time it was in the back of my truck... but winches are only as good as what you can hook it to and there was nothing but open water in front of me. They make "marsh" anchors but those work less than stellar IMO.

If Deltaman had been out of town or other wise unable to come help me. Or the mud boat that did happen to save me had not come by I had two choices. Swim the 200yds to the boat launch which I could see where I was stuck or hunker down until the peak next high tide which would have been at 1 PM tomorrow.

Sooooooooo I'm glad that mud boat did come by.

All sand and pretty hard bottom around here. I think one of those big fluke anchors would dig good enough around here to get me out.
That must be some heavy grass to stop you that quick though.

Looking back at it I can't believe I didn't make it. I mean I made it 30ft in and only had like 10ft to go. What a shame.

In a mud boat you don't say oh shit until you're stopped.

Why would I cuss out the world when I'm the dumbass who got myself stuck?

Did you hit it wide open?
The times that have bit me in the ass was when I was going somewhere in the middle. Going slow and get stuck its easy to get unstuck, going fast and you can usually carry over the "problem", but mid-speed is just enough to get in trouble. Theory of medium I guess.
