Wow that's crazy. The law couldn't consider that as a silencer either, I wouldn't think. Could have some VERY practical applications! Thinking about it though, you say subsonic ammo. I don't want to figure it from miles per hour. What is that in feet per second?
It's not considered a silencer by ATF because it contains no baffles to slow the gasses or otherwise re-direct the gasses.
It's just a straight tube.
