That's funny. I once had a lady stand on the edge of a corn field we were hunting and yell "Go ducks go!" every time a flock of geese would work our decoys. It cracked me up.

I know someone who allegedly killed one in MI. It was all over the papers, I'm sure the TC crew heard about it.

One of the guys in the taxi forum on dhc did one of those for his personal collection. Pretty cool to see the 2 together for comparison.

Mute swans are invasive, you can shoot them anytime you want. At least that is my understanding.

Ah Noooooo you can't anymore .because of PETA .you have to call the dnr to come out and id them first and they will give you a permit and only on private property .

They tried to make it legal to shoot them shortly after "the incident," but I don't know where it currently stands in MI. All I know is fuck those birds.

I asked a DNR guy at the sports show about shooting them and he wasn't sure on the specifics. He did say that they are illegal to transport or something like that, but couldn't really say how or why or what to do with them (it was a new question for him)

I'll shoot one if i ever see one. Sounds like an "Emu scenario" to me.

I didn't ever hear about a mute swan getting shot here. But I know 2 tundras got nocked off in a WMA this year.
And mutes are illegal to hunt here without a DNR permit.

So a non-native invasive species is protected by the state?

Yes. Because apparently people aren't capable of distinguishing them from a trumpeter or tundra
