Thanks!

I enjoy the logs. It's my go to fix during the season when I can't be in the blind and some logs make for good reading. I have kept logs every year and this is just a good way to share them, for those who are interested. I hope a good many participate, cause I love seeing how the rest of the world does their thing.

The response to this has been great. I really hope everyone that has requested one keeps lots of detailed logs in their personal forum. I'm looking forward to reading them, pictures are awesome too!

Rick thanks for continuing to push the issue

Olly, I'm another transplant from the previous site we had logs on with Rick and DComeaux. I'd like a log as well and typically kept it pretty well up to date. Lots of fun to peruse others' logs and lots can be learned.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm from Mandeville, which is across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, but live in Baton Rouge. Do most of my hunting in the marshes around lakes Pontchartrain and Borgne over that way, southeast La. Occasionally venture elsewhere to some rice in the Bunkie and Whiteville areas or some SW La fresh marshes with the wife's family or Rick in the Lake Arthur/Klondike areas.

The wife and I were lucky enough to be able to pull a trip over there this last season. A very cool area to say the least and will definitely be back.

Looks like my camera also saves you from having a ginger peer directly into your soul with a filter.

Rick's the man down that way, and also nice to have some family hunting just across the way from him as well.

We had the opposite results, we were one short of a limit on ducks when most other blinds saw little shooting that morning. The specks didn't want to play much but it sure was a treat to see that one's that did. Not something we get where I hunt.

Mrs. Flightstopper must have been peering over your shoulder when you wrote that lie.

Darren, we were ate up with specks while I was trying to rebrush a blind a previous party trashed, and I'm pretty sure I was still out of the blind and calling while curled in a ball on the levee when they shot their first. Then Mrs. Flightstopper decided it would be cute to defy natural law by stating that it wasn't her first rodeo and lived up to the family name. BAM!!! The flight stopped.

  Yup and not even a speck decoy put out yet for the first shot. I told her it'd be funny when we first booked up then immediately called it off knowing no good could come off it. She'd did it anyways. Doesn't help any either when we both wiffed on a flock of 20 specks that floated right overhead.

Haven't been around to comment on this, but great idea Rick. Could make for some interesting reads during the season

Spending "quality time" with the Mrs. can be very important duck stuff. And if the view happens to include some nice butts, so much the better. Momma could prefer opera to the beach...

So crank one up. Sculling and brant hunting are the kind of things most of us will only get to enjoy vicariously.

I look in the boat at the end of the day and if there are a lot of beer cans, I know that shooting wasn't very good.....If there is a lot of beer in the cooler at the end of the day, shooting was good.

Rick that is very true and the trip included all those factors along with good friends so it was a hit, and will hopefully help me when it's time to be away chasing birds.

Thanks Olly, I'm all set!
