Makes me happy everywhere I hunt is sand bottom or flooded fields. I hate wading in muck.

And not tidal... I'm so forgetful I know id be the dumbass who got stuck on a low tide on a regular basis.

We aren't tidal, but the wind can change it +-3 feet...Sometimes more. Not that much of an issue with the water up 22" and knee deep at the cattails, but I got the boat pretty stuck a couple times last year when the wind went from onshore to offshore and the water drops a foot before I realize it.

Duck hunters drown most places, but it's a lack of water that kills 'em at the mouth of the river. Wind blows the tide charts out the window, and when it says it's time to go, you gots to go.

Whatever it's called, they suck. Hard to predict at times and change with the blink of an eye. And being at the crotch of the bay it changes a lot. Most I ever saw was I think recorded at 40" drop. Marina channels were dry and on of the rivers by me went from 200 feet wide to about 40feet and wade able. Amazing what the wind can do.

No, although at times he seems like he'd make a better retriever. I however am not convinced that dog can swim, at least on top the water. We've thrown him in water a couple times and all he does is splash and sink to the bottom. Blockhead doesn't get the whole swimming concept and he has no fat on him to float
