I do like #3's but 3" shells are for people who can't shoot well and need extra help. And based on how many shells you use per bird you may want to bump it up to 3 1/2's....

You come up in January and shoot late season geese and tell me how well your 2 3/4" shells hold up. Those things are like fucking tanks, you need every god damn pellet you can get.

I'm on a roll this year. If you don't count cripple shots, I'm killing a bird for every 2 shells.
2 3/4 have their place, but I can't get the consistent 40 yard kill patterns like I can with 3". I like to get the birds in close, but sometimes they won't come near shore and I need the extra little punch.

After what happened this early goose season I will never hunt geese again without the Mag-10 and BBs.

I was just messing with you. I use 3" from time to time but have just as much luck with 2 3/4"

As long as they are close that works. But we aren't all stone cold killers like you.

I honestly don't know why Dan doesn't just shoot a .410.

It's been done...
But it's too expensive to do it all the time.
