Does the verdict of dick move carry through if it is public land?

Steele22 wrote:Absolutely, if it's worth going back too then it's obviously a good spot and not over hunted. I hunt several public spots at home. My best spot is in the river when all local ponds freeze but is in between a bunch of shoals and all but impossible to get to. I know the farmer well that owns land across the river from this spot so we put in on him. Had a falling out a few years ago with a hunting buddy and he pulled a half hour-45 minute float trip to get in and same out. Just so happened he tried it on morning I was there. It didn't happen again. Even though it's a public river he had no idea it was there so he's not gonna hunt it now

A couple of years ago when the ducks we here and I was getting good numbers a friend of my brothers tagged along with us. Turns out he had mighty loose lips. Some other high school kids, not friends of mine but friends of the kid I took, decided that this should be there spot too and went around the real owner to get "permission". To say the least it's been a knockout drag out over that spot ever since to the point it isn't worth it anymore. Constant threats and shit to where I barely hunt it even though all my t's are crossed and i's are dotted to hunt there. Point is if your ex friend makes an issue of it just talking with you don't take your kid out there where he can get involved. Disputes over hunting places can get out of hand quickly and aren't worth it in the long run.

I would stay away, like Olly, but it is not yours.

I agree 100 percent it's not mine but if I show a man a spot and we fall out I better not catch him in there. That's as bad as dating a old buddy's ex wife WTF. All jokes aside its a respect thing and earlier you said he got as much right to it as me not that you'd stay away....
Steele22 wrote:If it was an easy to get to spot that got hunted a lot then no big deal really.. I still wouldn't do it but a hole that a man has hunted 10-12 years and not seen 2-3 other boats and they were floaters/jump shooters. NEGATIVE
Steele22 wrote:Legally yes, but we're not talking law. Legally you don't have to wait till buddy's ex is an ex. Is it right?? Just an example but lots of people take it that seriously when spending their time and gas finding spots. Personally I'm a lineman at the power company I work my 40 every week plus 700-1200 hrs over a year. I have 2 kids that play sports which I help coach for them and the other kids. I don't have time to scout and find spots for me and my crew then worry about someone else getting out of group and sneaking in. Gotta look at it from all angles. Is it legal yes but I wouldn't do it and don't expect it to be done. Everyone has their own opinion and I'm not trying to be a ****, it's just a touchy subject once it happens to you. Just think you find a good spot and take a buddy. Next year you don't hunt together birds are in you go to setup and he's in your hole...
