Merry Christmas everyone! I'm in GA visiting family and am planning on trying my hardest to squeeze ducks from this non ducky area in the morning!

Did a little Christmas morning hunt in middle Georgia and I think I shot the only two Gadwalls within 100 miles 
The little sneak boat I got last year is really paying off, I can hide this little thing anywhere. Even on a bare rocky shore line like this morning.

You know you're a badass when you're hunting from a boat that has oar locks. (even has the oars) Small boats hide easy as heck. Gets you closer shots. You can lure them to within five or ten yards at times. (have had mallards nearly landing in the boat several times)

For many years I would hop out of bed way early to zip down to the local ponds and jump shoot geese or ducks. Plan was to hunt pheasants and usually one of the two (or both) plans produced game. Had a route I walked that had a pond and a ditch. Could scout the pond from above on an overpass. It's a borrow pit. I'd walk by the pond (or jump shoot it) and hit the ditch just an eighth mile north. Pond held geese most of the time during goose season. Ditch was usually loaded with pheasants and if conditions were right a certain bend always had a wad of mallards.
New owners of pond and ditch ended that whole deal. Oh well.
Recall Christmas morning at dawn is surreal quiet. It's like you're the only one on the planet for a couple hours.
