Time: Early A.M.
Location: Mobile River Delta
Cloud Cover: Lots-o - Bad ass storm predicted to come though after daylight. Lots of red and yellow on radar, but most passing just North of us.
Wind Direction and Velocity: Started off from the South @ 15-20, but changed direction several times during the storm, and had some bursts that were well over 30 mph at times.
Temperature: Low 70's
Moon phase:
Special Notes: Probably shouldn't have gone considering the weather predictions, but since my season has been slow to date, could not resist the temptation of hunting the weather.
Waterfowl Activity: Flat dead in the early a.m., despite the strong winds. When the winds died and the sun came out, my brother pointed to a rainbow. When I looked at it, noticed 4 ducks in the background heading our way. And so it went, after sitting through a storm, the birds didn't start flying until the weather turned bluebird..........go figure!
Waterfowl Responsiveness: Very good for the few birds we saw. Did have a fair amount of educated birds (Gadwalls), lighting out and taunting us, but what worked, came to die.
Hunters: 2, brother David and myself
Guns: Benelli M1 and Remington 1100
Malfunctions: None
Dog(s): None
Special Equipment: Umbrella and quality rain suit. Can't say enough about having a camo umbrella in a rain storm.........definitely a game changer.
Curses: Watched the clouds dipping down and starting to form a tail several times, but never fully formed......thankfully!
Kudos: A hunt with a brother is always enjoyable,a s we usually only get one or two in a season.
Birds By Species: 8 Gadwalls

Lagniappe: Glad we have Gadwalls.........
