Well I'm getting a taste of what you LA boys dealt with last year... Fox River is 5+ feet over the historical flood stage and my property went from a marsh to a lake....
Blind - underwater
Woodduck houses - underwater
Enclosed decoy trainer - underwater
Flatbed trailer - underwater
Hopes for a decent duck season - underwater
With unprecedented amounts of rain the ground is over saturated and likelihood of a fast drawn down is nil... I figure I lost about $500 worth of decoys that floated away and I only pray the blind doesn't pull up out of the ground...
Trailer only holding decoys and my kayaks but will need a thorough drying out whenever I'll be able to get in there and get it.
State of Emergency declared and National Guard activated... thankfully my home isn't affected but I can't say the same for my neighbor who's basement is a total loss with water lapping at the first floor floor boards...
It's disappointing knowing we lost 2 of my woodduck nests one with 11 eggs and one with 13 eggs... but no one could have ever imagined this much water...
We will rebuild!
My blind is 12 feet from ground to the roof!
