dog walker wrote:Just a heads up with RSI 131 I found that I had to apply 80-90 pounds of wad pressure to keep the top of the wad from getting folded up with/under the crimp.
I use the yellow basewads remingtons also. What I have seen, not saying much, is that with hulls that have a split or crack at the top of the hull can lead to a complete rip down the side of the hull when reloaded and fired again. Lesson learned
jarbo03 wrote:Sorry, I meant yellow platic basewad. 75 hss been a good load, I prefer 84 myself, and I load 88 with #2 when I am hunting where both ducks and geese are likely. To avoid confusion, buy sone Cheddite hulls or keep your buddies 3" Kent hulls, load #s 131, 132, and 133, you can't go wrong, 132 has been my favorite.

goosepit2007 wrote:yes i load the sportsman the same as green marked steel with no problems the pressure is little lower with black hulls......on th rsi 131 shows 10200 psi with the 520 grain load with said same powder as the 132 that has 492.2 grains shot with same powder charge as load number 131 but says has 11,400 psi...just thought there was something not right with that, was always going to call them up and check on that pressure should be higher with the heavier payload i would think....i shoot these loads out of rem 1100 and have shot 1 1/4 load at 12200psi with no problems at all.
the green hulls of remington last through a few more reloading then the black remington hulls ...just like anything pitch bad crimp/cracks and keep eye on brass end of hull don't take chance trying to get one more load hulls are cheap....
hope this helps

cannon wrote:Look for yellow base wads. That's what RSI is referring to. Remington varies both base wad height and hull length, depending on the factory payload. Look for 1 1/4-1 3/8 oz hulls with yellow bases.
