A New Visitor to Our Pond

I did a little thinning on the grass carp last week and one the casualties is at the water's edge on the near side of the pond.
When I was on the dock feeding the other fish yesterday, something caught my eye on the other side of the pond. He watched me for a few minutes and then took flight.

This morning he's back to claim his prize. He's sitting up a tree waiting for his meal to warm up.

Have you had to dodge 'em on I-75 during the winter? Every time I went home from college in the winter I would see at least 20 of 'em from the soo to the bridge. Every dead deer had one sitting on it.

The area we hunt elk in WY, you have to cover up any meat you leave while you're packing or going to get the horses. If you don't, you risk the bastards tearing your meat apart. They really are effective at ripping and tearing.
