This looks better and feels even better in the hand.
Why do it?
For me it makes fanning the call easier.
Tiny hands.

Went thru two really nicely populated bee hives this morning. Was able to give them each a box for the brood nest while separating a box of brood for above the queen excluder. Basically added 4 empties for each hive to fill.
I've never been this far ahead of the game.
April 18th and most hives are in honey production mode.
That's good
Four to go.

Coincidence?
Lincoln was shot in Ford Theater
Kennedy was shot in a Ford Lincoln
Lincoln's assasin ran from a theater and hid in a warehouse.

And if they would have investigated the killing of Lincoln more thoroughly they would have been a grassy knoll involved.

Last time thru...wasn't that long maybe a week.
Decided this one wasn't strong enough to put supers on yet.
Today just for the hell of it I looked again.
A LOT can happen inside a bee hive in a week or so.

On the lighter side: two guys take their male dog to a vet to get it transitioned.

Around here people are so dumb that they think they can just stop a combine and ask how much for a bushel of corn only it's not a combine its a tractor pulling a planter.
Asking a beekeeper about honey prices when he's got a handful of bees in April... here is proof.

Yeah it's not done yet bruh.

Bee math is hard and never really works out right but let's give it a try.
Dumb but here goes
Suppose you had 14 hives and enough equipment to put 4 honey supers on each.
Thats 56 supers.
Now suppose you could sell the honey in each one for $150.
It's not rocket science but that's a lot of coins and is where I get the loot to run hog wild during duck season if I want to.
Buy a few calls or something.

Does an $8400 hunting budget sound good?
Sold 1.5 gallons today to a friend from when I was a boy scout.

Sure you're a rich effer with two homes.
Got room for bees?

Been working on more bee math but this shit will hurt your head so bad. Count the cells in a brood nest.
It's around 34,000

It's 420 bitches!
I can't believe I've got all my hives set up for making honey this early. This year's gonna be good I'm getting the dandelion crop.
:?
Dandelion honey isn't that good but it's in there.
My honey is varietal , a mix of everything, because I'm urban. Ideally I'd find the worst hay farmer but finding a bad hay farmer ain't easy.
Alfalfa honey is good but they mow it the instant it starts blooming.

I had bees in a 15 acre alfalfa field. Not my bees. Not my field.
It flooded and the alfalfa went full bloom. 6 feet tall.
The honey flow was massive where I lost control of them bees. They swarmed multiple times. I ended up with lots of bees. The lady that bought them bees was dingy and more clueless than I was.
Alfalfa can produce 100# of honey per acre here.
Wish I'd have been ready for a 1500# crop. Think $5/#
She sure as hell wasn't.
