Time: left at 8:30

Location: marsh blind 3

Cloud Cover: partly cloudy

Wind Direction and Velocity: calm to light SW to decent SW after 8.

Temperature: Around 80

Barometer:

Moon phase:

Special Notes:

Waterfowl Activity: slow then picked up a little once sun got up and wind picked up

Waterfowl Responsiveness: small groups worked good

Hunters: Kevin, me, and 2 young guys that Kevin is a mentor to.

Guns:

Malfunctions:

Dog(s): Kevin's dog Kate

Special Equipment: several mojos

Kudos: we shot very well on singles and small groups up to 4 or 5, but very few birds that came in left.

curses:

Photo Ops: I was about to take a picture of the marsh and how good it looked, but some teal came by and I got distracted.

I left with 6 of 16 teal at 8:30 and the remaining 3 left with 18 about an hour later.

Addendum from yesterday:

curses: a large aggressive alligator took several birds that my brother and friends took in blind 4 pond, and prevented Corey from using Boone to retrieve.

Good hunt! I will stick with the eagles and hawks that sometimes steal our birds. You guys can keep those gators.

Oh we have those down here doing that too, in addition to the alligators, and occasionally an otter to boot!

Date: 9/27/2024

Time: finished up around 7:20

Location: same as yesterday

Cloud Cover: clear

Wind Direction and Velocity: calm to light NW

Temperature: low 60's

Barometer:

Moon phase:

Special Notes: probably the most efficient shooting I've been a part of. Extremely thankful to have friends and family who have decent spots and invite me whenever I'm visiting family in southwest Louisiana.

Waterfowl Activity: about the same flight as yesterday. Didn't see a ton, just was where enough of them didn't mind going.

Waterfowl Responsiveness: big groups wouldn't break today like yesterday but small groups already low did good.

Hunters: Kyler Corey Seth and me.

Guns:

Malfunctions:

Dog(s): Boone

Special Equipment: same as yesterday

Kudos: I tripled on first 2 groups and the other guys pretty much didn't miss either. Finished the morning off with a delicious biscuit from Rabideaux's, and headed back north.

curses: none

Birds By Species: 24 blue winged teal (more drakes than hens today)

Photo Ops:
