Crutch and brace free for 4 hours. So good so far.

My buddies pick me up tomorrow morning and we head to Michigan for three days of sea duck / diver duck hunting.

Sunday looks like ideal weather for hunting sea ducks offshore.

Monday looks like maybe for heading way out.

Tuesday. Oh hell no. 4-5 foot waves. We'll be hunting divers somewhere safely out of the rough seas.

I wish I could get out Friday, but I can't. So I was debating about tomorrow.

I left Florida for this, so I guess I'll be going. BTW, ducks mostly feed in the fields in the afternoon where we hunt. I don't know if that happens elsewhere, but here, usually there is no point in going in the morning when the geese haven't come down yet. Geese fly out to feed in the morning and ducks in the afternoon most of the time. It's not unusual to not see a duck until after 2PM and then they can open the pens and ducks head out off the cooling lake in big numbers.

Sucks that it's going to warm up and we might get a decent amount of rain on Saturday which could really screw up hunting in the fields. Maybe we'll get lucky and that rain will turn into half a foot of snow north of us.

Not the kind of mixed bag we see very often around here. May tempt me to give a morning goose hunt in the area. Lots of geese around. They are about a mile from where I can hunt. Problem is from there they are probably heading west to feed. I'd be northeast.

Headed down after a pretty good round of physical therapy with plans to hunt this afternoon. The club had hardly shot a duck all week. Sounds like the rain and warm sent a good chunk of them packing. Just didn't seem worth slogging through the mud on a knee that was feeling the effects of therapy. Decided to call it a duck season.

We got a couple inches of snow near my house. Looks like it made it through the day, that should increase the odds on geese so I will give the geese a go near my house tomorrow.

Emptied all the duck stuff out of the truck. Loaded all the goose stuff. I have this weekend and then my favorite late goose in January. Just need a lot of cold and snow.
