Took a drive today to one of my hunting areas. I usually only check this area right before the season and was very happy to see that there’s a lot of water and to go along with the water, There was lots and lots and lots and lots of ducks! Mostly mallards and gadwall, but I did see a bunch of teal as well. Still plenty won’t be flying anytime soon which means they might still be hatching

Hoping all that water makes their plight after hatching a lot more promising than otherwise. Thanks for the update.

Unfortunately, all the rain that we received a couple weeks ago is long gone. Lots of dry potholes again. So this is extremely good news! Thankfully, most ducks are flying now and are able to make it to the big water but this rain should help with the duck season and spreading birds around.
