Not exactly. My feelings are a little hurt. Out of +\- 700 birds, a whopping 40 or so have been the coveted boot lip species. I think I'm loosing my edge.

Damn cannon, I think I may be wearing your crown this year because even though we didn't count I think we beat that.

Word was sent throughout the spoon nation to avoid Cannon's pits at all cost. 40 failed to get the message.

By the time they got down here this year they were just as hard to decoy as everything else.

Hey, I should get honorable mentions or something. Not for spoonie numbers but, for the fact I drove all the way to SoCal and shot a spoonie drake.

I will do exponentially better next season, and that's a promise. I've got a week left . . . anything could happen. 8-)

Considering I haven't shot at a duck in something like 5 weeks I'd wet myself for a limit of spoons right now.

Duck snob...yeah right. I shoot mergansers.

We don't get them here often, as in, I might see one here once a year. Always let a youth pop them because it's always in the first split when I see them. Shot quite a few in NoDak although they weren't very good to eat, but neither were a lot of birds. Not like on the pacific coast where everything tastes great. I have had them here and they are much better than the ones I ate in NoDak
