Holy shit, I get scared when I ride my four wheeler over 6ft of water.

Wow good one gold. I wonder if the picture was from the day it went through. Kind of like "hey we did it, lets snap a pic to brag" before it broke through

The cost of pulling that thing up would make me cry.

Does insurance cover driving on ice? I'd bet not.

Insurance does not cover off road, be it in a swamp, racetrack, or on ice. That's all on you, and if you get caught, you aren't allowed to leave it down there.

To get them out, I think it runs you anywhere from a few thousand, to upwards of 10k depending on the situation. I'm guessing 70ft won't be cheap.

Yep. Was wondering if you ever even bothered to contact them back, or if "thanks but no thanks" was implied by your silence.

It would've been cooler if it fell through right after taking that pic. On a side note, I used to cut across Lake Minnetonka in the winter to get to work. It cut about 5 miles and 15 minutes off my commute, not having to follow the winding road around the lake.

Did that in Bloomington going to my friends house on the other side of Bush Lake. Freaked the hell out of my friend who HATED going out on ice because when he was a kid he busted thru a swamp up to his belly. I'd go from one landing to the other straight across it pretty much as opposed to going around it.

I lived in Mound and worked in St. Louis park. Cut right across and come off the ice at Deephaven. It saved a lot of time, especially if there was traffic on that shitty road winding around the lake.

A couple years back people started getting pissed at commuters cutting across the St Croix instead of waiting for the bridge traffic in Stillwater so they finally re-did that bridge to be more than just 2 lanes.

No matter how cold the winter, driving across a river is something I don't know I would be comfortable with.
