Looks eclipse, but it has curls. Looks 100% mallard though.

I would guess its not eclipse with 2 full curls. Look at the hen-like parts of the chest.

Look at the bill, IMO thats a hermaphrodite, or old hen that is producing to much testosterone, basically one in the same.

On an old hen the bill will always be orange. Now the other thing to remember is we are looking at the taxidermists paint job, not the original bill.

That's not what I was getting at, not in the least. My point was that you have to consider that you are looking at an "artists interpretation" when looking at paint.
