Lies! Unless you got out before the late 80's.

No, the Internet was around, but not really, until about 95. Had a cell phone in 95 as well, but it was somewhere around $120 a month for 90 minutes. Made me cringe even owning it.

Got my first cell in 97. It cost me 60$ / month for 60 minutes.

The Satelite phones aren't that big. Had to rent one a few years ago, I was expecting something like the old bag phone. It was only about the size of a regular cordless phone, I was quite surprised. Worked pretty well too.

I had to rent one when my wife and I went to Burning Man. It is in the middle of the Black Rock Desert, there is no cel service and we needed to be able to check on our kids and elderly family members at home. We were there for 7 days and thought it would be too long to not talk to our kids and check in with the rest of our family.

Haha, that's the most hilarious answer you could have given. Not the checking on family part, but the burning man part.

Dude you're on a college fishing team? That's badass! Question, why are using a 6'6" rod if you fish tournaments? Those are for the weekend warriors!

Nothing wrong with a 6'6''! I'm a bit of a legend around here in the fishing scene and everything except my sturgeon rod is a 6'6''!;)
