Assa would have a heart attack if I listed the things I have bought for this trip to ND in Oct. I damn near had one myself, one positive is I wont have to buy new gear for a while.

If you spent a ton of money, how come you didn't just go to some place sweet like Mexico or South America? That's where all the ducks hang out!

Its not so much a ton, and most of it is needed anyway. Most expensive thing was a damn e-collar, holy shit is TT proud of their stuff. I also picked up a 60" tv for $500.

Build your own caller! You can make better for cheaper, especially if you have an iPod. Think I built an 8 speaker caller for around $200

I know how you feel, we went through Sioux Falls on the way up and picked up 4 dozen Dakotas, talk about a hit on the pocketbook. Will likely do about the same this year (provided they ever have the new lessers in stock).

Too bad, I have an old iPod laying around, and I was getting very excited to learn how to save myself $250 for the new pup. Damn you, Eric Haynes and your reading comprehension. Damn you.

Hate to break it to you, but you are going to spend more like $400(or more) for a good e-collar. I cheaped out the first time and bought a $200 deal, and all I did was waste $200.

I ended up using a $10 tool box from Lowes to house mine. Same speakers I believe. 2 speakers are mounted to the box and the rest are wrapped inside. I still need to get some longer speaker cord for mine so the speakers are more like 50 yards away. Hate listening to that thing.

i got a sport dog brand e-collar for $125, hasn't let me down yet. have used it on my dog that goes every where with me as well as on hog and bear hounds. think it's about 4 years old.

That's what I wasted my $200 on. Was a SportDog wetlands hunter. It is fine for close work, but mine doesn't transmit reliably after 50 yards. From what I've seen, this is typical for them. That and there are only 8 stimulation levels

Dogtra, my 202 ncp lasted 9 years, sokd it when I no longer had 2 dogs, still worked great. Havs a sport dog sd1225 now, has been great for 3 years, would still take my chances with the dogtra though. 300M or 280 ncp is all you need.

My roommate has the SportDog 1825, which is basically the same as the 1225 with a larger range I believe. I've been impressed with it thus far.
