Won't be able to say if I'll make it for sure until closer and dates are set, let alone what I might bring.
What is the nearest airport?

Bring a gun, blind, clothes, accessories. We should have everything else needed. Closest airport is MCI in KC, less than an hour away

My original thoughts in hosting a hunt was I have a 25 acre watershed lake that when not froze holds good birds. If it is froze I have private access to the river, both are capable of supporting large groups. Would definitely be looking for other places or some field hunting, go wherever the birds are.

Not sure what you guys have for decoys, but i have a trailer with 7 layouts and 10 dozen full bodies I could bring.

Will keep that in mind. Can see who will be coming, whether driving or flying, who will need a blibd, etc. Will check weather before everyone leaves, will have an idea if we will be field, lake or river hunting.

Honestly, I am super forgetful and I only have a single cab. All of my gear is in the trailer. You will see. I will forget multiple important things. I wouldnt mind flying, but I would have to limit what I bring.

Don't forget the hookers! Everyone would be welcome to ship items to my house also, if they choose to fly.

Jarbo,
This really makes a lot of sense if you think about it. It would probably be easyier to do some large goose hunts to accomodate everyone.

That was also what I was thinking. I don't know how often you guys goose hunt, or even how many geese you got down there, but usually when we have a ton of people wanting to hunt, we end up goose hunting. Easy to put 8 layouts out than 8 people together duck hunting unless you have enough spots to split up.

5 or more years ago I would of said hell yes. We have tons of geese around here, but those domesticated fuckers are getting hard to hunt, rarely leave city limits around my town. I prob average around 80 geese a year, majority being over water, cattle ponds and occasionally on the river. I have lots of fields along the river, birds have been avoiding them for 5 years or more. I will definitely be on the lookout for fields, but if water is open, that is your best bet.

Guess it's the opposite here. I rarely ever shoot geese on the water here. All of our goosing is over winter wheat and corn.

I'm all for you bringing the goods. Just trying to keep it easy, save ya from hauling unnecessary things. 90% chance we wouldn't need them, which sucks cause I love field hunting, was all I did til 4-5 years ago.

Well I don't plan on bringing anything that won't be used:grin:

Can be decided down the road once we see the conditions. I was just throwing out things I had to offer.

Keep in mind that if you are going to be east of st. louis, you're going to be 5+ hours away from me.
