Frogg togg waders??

Does anyone own a pair? How would you rate them? Pros/cons

Jr has a pair of breathables, loves em but they are still pretty new, can't speak for longevity

I got a pair of the breathable waders with insulated boots before the season this year. They held up pretty good, no complaints. Will see how they do next year after being stored in the garage.

I own a pair of Bull Toggs, as does about another half dozen of my friends, been great waders for all of us. I've had mine going on 3 seasons now, and most of my buddies have had theirs at least that long. I'll definitely buy another pair, although I wish they would release them in Duck Blind or the new Shadow Grass Blades.

This was my 3rd season with my neoprene frog togs. No leaks to speak if yet and I've stayed fairly warm in em. My feet will get a little cold in the late season standing in waist deep 35* water but nothing that isn't bearable.

I've never seen frogg togg waders and don't know anyone who has them but, I bought these from USIA at the end of the season. They are made from drysuit material and have a lifetime warranty on the seams and workmanship. They seem very durable so far but, we'll see over the next few seasons.
Like breathables, you have to layer under them for the weather you will be hunting.



I got fitted for them the first week of Jan. and picked them up in time to hunt a couple times in the last week of the season. USIA is a supplier of drysuits and other related gear for the military.

They were giving the members of the local hunting and fishing forum an introductory price of $149, they are $199 now on their website.The thing is they are custom so you can decide what type of boots you want. Biggest draw back right now is color and camo coices are limited. I think they will really shine on the early season hunts. Only way you will get wet in these is if you put water over the top of them or sweat.

I'd say any 5mm neoprenes worth having are gonna run $200 or better. The cheap ones usually don't hold up for many hunts.
These waders have some type of cordura over them. I think you'd practically have to cut them with something pretty sharp to make them leak. They fit loose so you have great range of motion but, I imagine it is the same with most breathables too.

Simms makes the best waders hands down. They are not cheap, but in my opinion worth every penny.

I'm not a fan of neoprenes, breathables with a few layers if it's cold out are much more comfortable and just as warm.

They aren't camo. I didn't get camo waders until the late 90's. Hunted for 20 years with rubber waders that were greenish colored.
Frogg Togg sounds like a product you buy for a 4-yr-old. I'm sure it's good but the name is kinda lame.

I didn't have good luck with my frogtogs lasted less then one year. Sent them back and they sent me a free pair.

I've been down that road with Hodgman waders. I would send them in each year and they would replace them. I had to have 2 sets, so I'd have something to wear when mine were sent in for replacement. I finally got tired of it and moved on to other brands. The hodgman waders weren't bad but, their boots start cracking and leaking in the second season, every time.
It's kind of tough to compare how waders stand up for others because some guys only hunt from a boat and never really bust through the brush on hunts and some guys always walk in. Also, when a guy says he hunted his waders 3 seasons, you don't know if he hunts 5 times in a season or 50 times.
Pretty much have to have the dura stretch in the 5mm around here and that is why I say the minimum of $200, plain neoprene doesn't hold up to brush busting.

Very true I have two pairs now. And it's always the boots that go for me. But if you hunt 4 days a week I suppose it's just going to happen.

I have more experience with waders than most.

Best all around cabelas 3mm neostretch, although in the last few years they have gone down hill a bit. I'm guessing I've bought close to a hundred pair in the last 25 years

I usually only get 2-3 seasons out of a pair of waders, but I assume one of my seasons is like 3 for the average guy.

Just bought some Redington Sonic Pros.

Got three seasons out of my cabelas neoprene duck waders which are now patched and fine. 2 years out of my Hendrix breathable waders that are also ripped but are now patched and fine.

I like the cabelas warranty. The best neo's I have are macks durahyde 5mm. The only pair of neo's that have made it more than 2 seasons for me.
